Abstract: This Website is designed for young people who have a family member with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). It is intended to help them learn about the disease and how to enjoy the time they spend with the family member. The Website introduces the DoRight Kids, four cartoon characters who have a family member with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and don’t know what to do. You can help them learn to “DoRight” by working through the activities on the Website. These activities include: (1) an overview of AD with facts, games and puzzles, pictures of normal and diseased brains, a quiz, and other information; (2) activities designed to test your knowledge about AD; (3) information about ways you can help a family member with AD, including tips on improving communication, making a profile of your family member’s life, and other activities you can enjoy with the family member; (4) a story corner with jokes, a video clip of real families, and audio books about a grandparent with AD; (5) information about a Canadian school program that teaches students about AD; (6) lyrics to songs that you can sing with the family member who has AD; (7) ideas for arts and crafts projects you and your family member can do together; and (8) a kid’s dictionary of terms that are related to AD.
